Earn a good reputation on Steemit
Steemit is full of posts. Of course, it is meant to be. It is not a ghost town.
There are posts which we can single out, that actually has content that makes steemit worthy, very worthy indeed. For that, go over to the pages of steemit projects like @thesteemengine @air-clinic @steemiteducation @steemstem and so on. There are great curators like @sneakyninja who also give people the chance to find great content and reward them too.
People join steemit in the hope that they get involved in a website that helps them learn and earn at the same time. They are tired of facebook which is full of people who post countless selfies and brag and then there are the ads which jump on your face and sympathy photos asking for a like which would be magically converted to a dollar and so on. Twitter is okay for sharing links and maybe get information but there is a huge loophole which is that a member can be added to a list and not even be aware of it. I got a shock when I learned that my name was included in so many lists and I did not even know about it and ended blocking people which of course caused a backlash.
Steemit is a wonderful city in the online world where you can establish yourself and build yourself a home and in the process you make so many friends too.
Do you mean anything other than spam?
I have noticed people leaving spam comments on posts. Those are either flagged or downvoted. Why do so? Your steemit account was created and given to you so that you can be a part of steemit's great journey to the top. It is your duty to protect your account and grow your reputation. If you leave spam comments, it will only give you a bad name and a flag most probably. If you leave a hate comment, you can vent your anger and move on but it will only point a finger at your personality. So, be wise and just do your thing and live and let live. Hate does not solve a thing. Terrorism has not proved a thing except that hate can destroy lives.
Want to earn on steemit?
Start posting about what you do or what you are good at. Like, for instance, if you are good at cooking, post about it and also include your own photos and soon, people will start noticing it. If you are good in health care and exercise and things related to it, post something about it. If you are a student, you can write posts based on your studies and lesson plans and many others will find it useful too beside yourself. As my mother used to say, writing down, one time what you learned is far better than reading your lesson five times. These are just examples. You can write what you want. If you lack inspiration, try out @mariannewest freewrite prompts and she is a very good person who helps get you noticed.
(I was inspired by steemians to post photos I took)
Save the small earnings that you get and try to power up. It is hard for newbies and it took me a long time to understand the process. Eventually, I did lease sp and then that helped me get more returns but what helped me most was the support given to me by people who appreciated what I wrote, the first being @arbitrarykitten and through her, @steemiteducation A huge thanks to @surfyogi who supported me and surprise votes from random whale visitors
Price of steem will rise
It is better to lease steem power and use your steem power wisely. The price of steem will certainly rise and those who act wisely and invest in steem will have the last laugh. So, stop acting foolishly, stop spamming, stop leaving hate comments, stop writing copy paste articles and use your steemit name to earn a good reputation
Do not give up on steemit. Walk that extra mile and stay happy forever

For the fist time I have given an upvote worth $0.02 to this post..Yeah,I purchased SP delegation from blocktrades..Let's see what happens!
FB is a crap..I do agree with it..But Twitter is not like that..I learned a lot from there..I'm not active for over 3 years and still I have 690 followers there..A lot of famous Malayalam and Tamil tweeps of today were my virtual friends back then! I found quora then..It outpower both FB and Twitter..Now Steemit-I foresee a good future!
great and good luck dear sathya. I agree, twitter is useful and quora too is great. Thanks for the upvote
Nice article @sayee. There is always both good and bad sides for anything. The same way, steemit has both good content creators as well as spammers. Just because it is surfacing only now in India, it will definitely see a good future in India. The platform is more decentralized and people have started to use STEEM to build other innovations out of it. As you said using the platform in the right way is very important.
well said dear
This is all good advice. Building friendships takes time. I go to a big party and I am overwhelmed by too many people to remember. For me it is better to make relationships with smaller groups and build my way up.
@Lahvista
I understand dear. I too am a little shy and take time. Do take your time and make great friends here. Great signature picture
