Interesting take. Sometimes it does feel that way. But unless there's some drama with the wales it's a kind of meritocracy and luck to be noticed. Most of my post, for example, have quite a bit of research behind them with my own take on what I'm talking about. Some do really well, way above my expectation, and others barely make a few cents... So ... To me it seems it's more a matter of luck. Good work will be rewarded, but only if you're noticed. But I dread the idea of an authoritarian platform. The whole point of me coming here was to escape censorship.. Hope it doesn't envelop Steemit too.
