Mount Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world. It stands at an elevation of 8,848.86 meters or 29,031.7 feet. It is part of the Himalayas mountain range, with its summit located on the border between Nepal and China.
In Nepal, Everest is known as Sagarmatha, which means 'forehead in the sky'. In Tibet, it is called Chomolungma, meaning 'Goddess Mother of the World'.

Everest is a major challenge for mountaineers. Every year, countless climbers attempt to reach its summit. However, climbing is extremely dangerous due to its harsh weather, strong winds, and high altitude.
The first successful ascent was made in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.
