There is a giant gaping hole in the cryptocurrency world that is missing a STEEM exchange. I have been thinking about this a bunch and want to do something, but I am no programmer. I have thought about collaborating with someone local that is the founder of a major coin. I feel that if a multilingual exchange is set up in a crypto friendly country, then that would lay the groundwork for a huge improvement for STEEM & SBD. What makes Bitcoin so popular is not that it was the first, but that it is the common trading pair anywhere. There is a paradigm shift that is happening. Exchanges all over are creating their own coin. Why? to replace bitcoin trading pair with something that is better. They want to have the chance to have their coin come out on top. STEEM and SBD have an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of building themselves as a common trading pair by creating an exchange that uses STEEM and SBD as a trading pair for everything else. We already have an advantage. Instead of a coin created from scratch and possibly one that is only a ERC-20 token, STEEM already has a blockchain that is a huge performer and a significant following.
