Nice article. I'm afraid most of the "nice post!" guys won't bother reading it, but nonetheless very informative.
I have to say, as a minnow who's been active a little more than a week, I don't get the countless people who just leave spam comments on every thread. Don't they ever get bored? I've been focusing on commenting for now, because a) I'm trying to imagine what kind of content I'd like to be focusing on in the future by learning from others, and b) I'm starting to get acquainted with people who create stuff that I like, and I'm actually enjoying my time here, even if I don't make money. But NOT making money and NOT enjoying your time in any sort of discussion whatsoever, what's the point really?
You raise some good points. Obviously being able to make money on here is nice. A lot of people kinda dropped off the radar after I started when the sbd dropped. I kept on trucking along even when I wasn't making Much because...I ENJOY it here. Makes a huge difference. I get more satisfaction and fulfilment out of my interactions here than I did with years on Facebook.
