My 5th Class on Steemit Learning

in #steemitclasses21 days ago (edited)

Hello everyone I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your life. Today I am going to share what my students learned in our 5th class. The class was very important because it was about correcting the mistakes they made in their SteemAtlas posts. Since SteemAtlas is a unique project that highlights different places around the world students need to learn how to write these posts correctly follow the rules and avoid common mistakes.

In this session I not only pointed out their mistakes but also guided them step by step on how to improve their posts and make them acceptable for Steemit moderators.

Not Sharing the Google Map Link

One of the first mistakes was that some students forgot to share the Google Maps location link in their SteemAtlas post. I explained to them that this is an important requirement because the project is about reviewing and sharing real places. Without the map link other users cannot easily find the place.

I showed them how to open Google Maps search for the place and then copy the shareable link. I also explained how to paste it in their post under the “Location” heading so it looks professional.

Mixing Two Posts Together (Diary Game + SteemAtlas)

Some students mixed up their Diary Game posts with their SteemAtlas entries. I explained to them that each post type has its own purpose:

  • Diary Game is about daily life activities.
  • SteemAtlas is about reviewing a specific place.

I guided them to always keep the content separate and not combine two different post formats in one entry. This makes the post clearer and avoids rejection from moderators.

Using WhatsApp Images

A big mistake was that some students uploaded WhatsApp images/screenshots. I explained that Steemit does not allow posts with WhatsApp or low-quality screenshots because they are not original.

I taught them how to use their own camera images instead how to edit them properly and then upload them through Steemit. This way their posts look more authentic and acceptable.

Not Pinning the Correct Location on SteemAtlas Map

Another issue was that some students were not pinning the exact location on the SteemAtlas map. Pinning is very important because it connects their post to the real place in the projects database.

I showed them step by step how to open the SteemAtlas website search the place and then pin it properly. This ensures that their post will be listed correctly on the map for others to explore.

Not Setting 10% Beneficiary

IMG_1491.jpg

Students also forgot to set 10% beneficiary to @steem-atlas. I explained that this is a compulsory rule for SteemAtlas posts. Beneficiary settings help support the project and show responsibility as a contributor.

I guided them on how to set the beneficiary in the Steemit editor before publishing their post.

Images Labeling in Posts

Another mistake was not labeling their images. Many students uploaded pictures but did not explain what they were showing.

I explain that every picture must have small description (for example: “Front view of Dean Plaza Saddar Road Peshawar”). This make the post more informative and userfriendly.

Joining the SteemAtlas Discord

I encouraged all students to join the SteemAtlas Discord server. I told them that after publishing their entry post they should also share it in the Discord channel. This helps moderators review the post quickly and allows them to connect with other SteemAtlas participants. Here is link of discord

RC (Resource Credits) Checking

IMG_1505.jpg

In the final part of the lecture I taught them how to check their RC (Resource Credits). Many beginners face posting issues because they don’t know how much RC is available.

I explained that RC works like “fuel” on Steemit. Without enough RC you cannot publish posts comments or votes. I showed them how to open their wallet check their RC status and manage it correctly.

By the end of the class each student checked their RC and applied it correctly in their posts.

Class Outcome

By the end of the lecture students reviewed their SteemAtlas posts corrected all the mistakes and republished them according to the rules. I was very happy to see that they not only corrected their errors but also gained more confidence in writing Steemit posts.

This class was very productive and I feel that step by step the students are improving their Steemit journey.
