My Third Class on Steemit Learning – The Diary Game
Hello everyone
I hope you are doing well and enjoying your life. Today I am sharing the details of the third class that I conducted with my students. In the first class I introduced them to Steemit teaching them how to create an account and understand the platform. In the second class I guided them on how to write and publish their Introduction Post in the Newcomers Community.
Now in our third class the focus was on one of the most famous activities on Steemit The Diary Game. This class was a step forward in their learning journey because it was their first practical experience of creating a complete post with formatting alignment headings and tables.
What My Students Learned Today
1. Writing with Proper Headings
I explained to my students how to use headings in a post. Headings make a post neat well-structured and easy for readers to follow. For example:
- # Heading 1 (Main Title)
- ## Heading 2 (Sub-title)
- ### Heading 3 (Sub-topic)
They practiced by giving a title to their diary game and dividing their content into sections like Morning Activities Afternoon Tasks Evening Reflections etc.
2. Creating and Using a Table
I introduced them to the concept of using tables in markdown. Many students were excited to learn this because tables help in presenting information clearly.
This helped them understand how they can present data in a professional and reader-friendly way.
3. Adding and Aligning Pictures
In the diary game pictures are very important. I taught my students how to upload and insert pictures in their posts. More importantly they learned how to align pictures:
- Left Side alignment
- Right Side alignment
- Center alignment
They also practiced placing text beside the images which made their posts look more attractive and engaging.
4. Text Justification
I explained the difference between left-aligned text and justified text. Justification makes the post look neat as all lines are aligned from left to right giving it a clean book-like style. Students practiced this by formatting their diary game paragraphs in justified alignment.
5. Creating a Complete Diary Game Post
At the end of the class every student wrote their own diary game entry. They included:
- A proper title with heading
- A short introduction paragraph
- A table showing their daily activities
- Pictures with alignment (some left some right some center)
- Properly formatted paragraphs with justification
- A short conclusion about their day
This was their first full Steemit post with markdown styling and it was a big achievement for them.
Class Outcome
By the end of this session my students were confident in using markdown for headings tables pictures and justification. They also understood how important formatting is for making a post look professional and reader-friendly.
