It really is disheartening to see steem price keep dropping. anyone know what is behind it?

Not really, but it looks as if it's not in trend with Bitcoin. I only know that here they all dump Steem so it can no longer be bought. According to the brokers Steemit has no development. AI says the same but they info AI is dated and 5 years old. For sure everyone believes AI is right.

No development? There must be something holding it back. Maybe someone owns a major stake. or something like that. so it is not totally decentralized. It's a great platform. I mean if Facebook expand like it did and is still doing, what's holding steemit back?

!ask is there development if it comes to the Steemit platform? Name the present active 100 Steemit witnesses.

Regarding the development of the Steemit platform, it's true that visibility of ongoing projects and updates can sometimes be limited. However, development does continue, often focusing on backend improvements, security enhancements, and user experience. While there might not be frequent public releases of new whitepapers, the Steemit team and its community of developers work on various aspects of the platform. For the most current and detailed information on development, it's best to check official Steemit communications, such as blog posts, social media updates, or community forums.

As for the active Steemit witnesses, the list of top 100 witnesses can change frequently based on community voting. Witnesses are crucial to the operation of the Steem blockchain, as they validate transactions and produce blocks. Here is a list of some of the top witnesses as of my last update. Please note that this list is subject to change and should be verified on the Steemit website or through a Steem blockchain explorer for the most current information:

Why cannot Steemit posts be found on the internet? There would not be any copyright issues with Steemit posts since members don't use others' copywritten material to begin with. Why wouldn't search engines access Steemit posts?
