A misfortune that could have been avoided: Chapter 1

It was yet another dawn, the moon glistened the earth and all the children in the street gathered at mama Samuel compound to listen to a story. This was their usual routine but today, it was definitely special as it was one of the children birthday and mama Samuel on hearing this decided to tell a very interesting story which would have a profound impact on the children. She began, there lived a boy named frank.

Frank was from a prominent background, his father was a senator representing a constituency in the state while his mother was a renowned lawyer. He attended the best school in the neighbourhood and never lacked material things.
Frank was a very lazy child and refused to study. His father was aware of this attitude but did not advice him to stop but rather encouraged him by bribing teachers to manipulate his results every term thereby ensuring that his son always came top in class.
However, as Frank proceeded to secondary school, things changed.....................
