It's a beta version of what Steemit is trying to become by grouping all posts from a particular hive on that hive page. If you go to https://beta.steemit.com, you can see all the different hives and their numbers.
I'm glad you were able to tell them...
I just noticed that a lot of the #ssg-membership, seem to be Jumping over to the New Ship...
