“Silver Adventures”- Captain Joshua Slane – 11JN19 – ‘It’s time to deal!’
⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵. . . "Tour of the Gulf of Aden". . . (cont.)
Strong northerly winds pushed the Silverton six miles south overnight, cutting the wakes of the Admiral and Captain Stubborn! On-board, the Captain eyed his chartwork carefully and weighed his options. If the northerly winds held until the next day, there might be the opening of a new 'Silver Buy Cycle' and Commander Galligan would have to stay on in Sherubrub, buying not only powder, but silver as well...
[Last time...]
Asif’s eyes lit up and he glanced back down at the map. Then he carefully ran his finger along the eastern side of the extinct volcano…
“Guns...” He said quietly.
The Captain looked up at Seaman Upu with a smile, “Fine job mate!”

[The War Lord’s chamber…Sherubrub…]
The War Lord Ghazi clapped his hands and smiled as he ordered the music to play again, the dancers to come out and island grog brought out for all. Seaman- Quarter Gunner Tokjockey grabbed his mug and turned to Junior Petty Officer- Boatswain's Mate Errislravenhill.
“Quarter Gunner Reporting for Duty!” He said with a foam covered smile.
“Well blow me down, noot whit I wuz expectin’ on a shair leeve in Sherubrub!” Errislravenhill replied as she glanced around at the festivities in surprise, “Ahh’m sure Commander Galligan will dae his duty, but we'll need heem back aboard th' Silverton in th' morn. It might be a problem if he wants tae bide, a bigger problem if he's forced tae bide!”
“Weel Ahh fur one hopes he takes his time aboot it!" Boy Ipporah said with a smile as he downed the last of his mug.
“Shut yer gob loon! Yoo're nae e'en allowed tae bevvy wi' an officer!" Seaman- Able Seaman Luesniper scolded quietly.
The music and the dancing wound on for longer than most had expected. Finally, the long curtain at the end of the room swung open, and a dishovelled Commander Galligan stepped into the room.
Junior Petty Officer Errislravenhill saluted him, along with the crew as he nodded cooly and walked up to the counter and grabbed a mug of grog…
“Ahh troost aw went weel Sairrr?" Errislravenhill said with a smirk.
Galligan gave her a raised eyebrow but didn’t reply. Instead he downed the full mug of grog and turned towards the old War Lord…
“Enaw ay th' festivities! It's time tae deal ..."
“So it is!”
<<CLAP!>><<CLAP!>>
As Ghazi clapped his hands the music quickly stopped and the dancers left the room. With a few words to his servants, six medium sized barrels were rolled into the room and stood-up in the center of the room. Galligan then flipped the copper chests back open and nodded to the War Lord…
“Aw fair an' squaur?" He asked.
“Fair and square Commander! It’s been a pleasure doing business with the Scottish Navy again!”
Galligan caught the shaded remark and wondered at it's meaning as the long curtain at the end of the room slid open a bit. Bashi gazed out at him one last time with a smile, but he pretended not to notice.
“Alright mates! Let's git these barrels doon tae th' shair an' heed fur th' brine!" Galligan ordered.
