It's hard to debunk something when the rules can change.

Look at religion as an example. After thousands of years, people still believe. People who believe in something only research into the side they are on. If believer's did real research, they would see the same story churned out over and over. They would look into other religions and most likely have a completely different outlook after.

It's like when people go to jail, they come out good living because someone has converted them. You've converted yourself by watching videos and reading forums.
