Three Centuries

Of silver here...

I finally got a representative of the 19th century added to my stack. I didn't intend to pick up a slabbed Morgan, but it was within my budget for finally adding an 1800s Morgan to the stack so I pulled the trigger.

The guy I purchased from was kind enough to throw in a freebie 1963 Roosevelt dime! The dime set up a nice photo with silver coins from three different centuries, 19th, 20th, and 21st.
There are of course much older silver coins even of US mintage, but it's still cool, to me at least, to be able to have coins spanning such long amount of time!

Since it's in AU condition this coin likely never went anywhere too interesting or was carried by anyone famous (or infamous), but you never know and that's one of the cool things about old coins to me... You just never know who's pocket it may have been in or who's hands it may have passed through in its lifetime.

Good point. It's amazing to think where these coins have been!

I like to imagine different men that I look up to from history carried them depending on when the coin was made of course. Maybe at some point Teddy Roosevelt used that 1882 Morgan to pay for a drink and the barkeep stashed it away somewhere and that's how it stayed in such good condition.... Highly unlikely, but would be damn cool!

Nice coins! A free silver dime is quite a pleasant surprise! @ironshield

Sure was! Definitely sweetened the deal on the Morgan!
