"Honouring an Invitation to a Steemian Traditional Wedding Ceremony"

Yesterday was a remarkable day to rejoice with family, friends and well wishers.

Yesterday being the 6 of September 2025 was a day to celebrate with our newest bride who is also a steemian she earlier posted her invitation her invitation post inviting steemians who were able to attend.
alot of effort and sacrifice has been made to see today a success.

I woke up early yesterday to prepare for the occasion, I my husband and our little daughter after eating breakfast we took our bath and dressed up in our beautiful Efik cultural attire we arrived at the venue early, as the family of the groom we needed to be punctual.

I and my family member met with the rest of the family and together we all moved to bride residential home of which the wedding will hold as tradition demands.

We arrived the compound and was warmly received by the Brides family, after sharing pleasantries the confirmations of bride price and other requirements given by groom started, although the bride price was not given on that very day it has to be confirmed by the parent of the bride to all the winneses that the groom has met all the requirements this part was done indoor while the witnesses outside listened to the master of ceremony saying out loud to the hearing of everyone.

After this part was successfully done the master of the ceremony declared the ceremony opened it was time to receive the both couple in the open space called the atire which they have prepare specially for them.

The couple danced joyfully and were accompanied by family members and the efik traditional wedding dancers to their attire and got seated.

The couple rested in their attire while the MC entertained the audience.

The audience were entertained with different kinds of efik traditional cuisine with palm wine, after entertainment the bride perform a beautiful dance to her husband.

Her head was endowed beautifully with beautiful gold comb which symbolis first daughter her beautiful oyoryor gown speaks beauty she dance joyfully round her husband and their happiness was so obvious from the smiles the both had on their faces.

It was time to officially hand the bride the groom in the presence of all the witnesses

The the bride family and the groom family groom stood the MC confirmed from the bride family and to the hearing of everyone that the have willing give their daughter in marriage to the groom's family the same was done with the groom's family and the confirmed publicly that have accepted the bride and will love cherish her in her new family.

The groom appreciate and thank all his families, the bride family, his friends and well wishers all in one way or the other has contributed to the success of the occasion and also for abandoning their personal business both far and near to be present in his happiest moments, he also wished them journey mercies to their various destination, after the groom was done the closing prayer was done and the wedding was over congratulations to you @affy .
