Catharantus Roseus Flower (Bunga Tapak Dara)
Tapak dara is an annual shrub originating from Madagascar, but has spread to various other tropical regions. Its scientific name is Catharanthus roseus (L.) Don. In Indonesia, this garden ornamental plant is known by various names, such as those called sindapor (Sulawesi), copper flower (Sundanese), and tapak dårå (Javanese language). Malaysians are more familiar with it as Chinese kemunting, alang grass tree, Chinese flower tree, or beach rose tree. In the Philippines it is known as Tsitsirika, in Vietnam it is known as hoa hai dang, in China it is known as Chang chun Hua, in England as Rose Periwinkle, and in the Netherlands as solderten bloem.
