The Camellia sinensis is a species of evergreen shrub or small tree in the flowering plant in the family of Theaceae. It’s originally native to Southeast Asia (southern China, north India, Myanmar & Cambodia) but are also cultivated today in Sri Lanka and Japan. Rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and essential nutrients, tea helps rejuvenate, soothe & protect your skin. Its leaves & leaf buds are used to produce black & green tea. Common names include tea plant, tea shrub & tea tree, unrelated to Melaleuca alternifolia, the source of tea tree oil, or the genus Leptospermum commonly called tea tree.
