Dipterocarpaceae Hopea GreenLeaves 🌱
It’s a genus of plants in the family Dipterocarpaceae. The known native range of this genus is S. China to Tropical Asia. The tannin rich bark and leaves of this plant have been used for treating paralysis, haemorrhoids, diarrhea, gum inflammation & urinary incontinence. The stem bark of H. odorata has also been traditionally used to treat neck pains in the North Andaman Islands, India.
They are a keystone species in Southeast Asian rainforests, particularly in Borneo & play a significant role in carbon absorption & soil conservation. Hopea species, like Hopea odorata, are also known for their traditional medicinal uses, including anti-inflammatory properties.
