It’s is commonly known as balsam, garden balsam, rose balsam, touch-me-not or spotted snapweed, is a species of plant belonging to the family of Balsaminaceae. It’s native to India & Myanmar.

It’s has been long prescribed for the treatment of rheumatism, isthmus, dysentery, generalized pain, fractures, inflammation of the nails, scurvy, carbuncles, bruises, foot diseases, etc.

Herbalists use crushed balsam flowers, often in poultice form, to relieve a number of ailments, including burns & scalds, warts, torn nails, snakebites and various inflammations of the skin.
They're tough plants. Balsam flower pros include the plant's ability to thrive in shady areas and moist woodland gardens.

They are typically shade & moisture-loving plants. Impatiens prefer fertile, well-drained soil that is high in organic matter.
