Is a species of flowering plant in the family of Apocynaceae, tribe Marsdenieae. It’s native to China & Indo-China. It’s cultivated elsewhere & may occur wild as an introduced species. Common names include Chinese violet, cowslip creeper, Pakalana vine, Tonkin jasmine & Tonkinese creeper.

The plant bears clusters of golden yellow blooms along the vining stems during summer months. Individual blooms emerge successively over a period of weeks emitting a rich, heavy fragrance during the day & night. Used for fever, poison antidote, tranquilizer & treatment for back pain.

Its flowers, which bloom in clusters, are particularly fragrant at night, releasing a strong, sweet scent. While cultivated for its fragrance and ornamental value, it also has uses in traditional medicine & cuisine in some Asian cultures.

It’s free to use stock photo at will.
