It’s a very medicinal & beautiful dense multi-branching evergreen shrub that is notable for its brightly colored blooms in the family of Rubiaceae.

It’s native to Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. Used in the Indian traditional medicine the fusion of juice leaves & the fruit of Ixora coccinea as care for dysentery, ulcers & gonorrhea.

Its bright red flowers, symbolizing spiritual devotion & passion, are used in religious rituals and ceremonies. The genus name "Ixora" is derived from the Sanskrit word "Ishwara," referring to Lord Shiva.
