RE: St. Valentine is an old delusion
The rites of marriage did not exist? I have not read the Bible since I was a child, but I seem to recall that Jesus was present at a wedding. When are you suggesting the rites were created? Is this claim based on the Catholic church, or do you include the Orthodox churches also?
Pre-Christian marriage ceremonies existed in the third century, of course.
The sacrament of the wedding was not.
By the way, in the third century there was still no schism Catholic church and Orthodox.
That is why I posed the question. I wanted to see whether you know it. Anyway, I am not interested in religion, so I cannot debate it any further. To me, any saint anyone wants to believe in, they are welcome, as long as I am not compelled to believe.
I understand you.
I also divide the faith from philology and history.
