Story From A Picture 12-4-18steemCreated with Sketch.

"COME ON!!!" Casey yelled as he repeatedly slammed his right hand against the steering wheel. His left hand gripped the wheel firmly, but his right hand was doing its best to encourage the old truck down the road.

Casey and his wife, Sarah had been fighting when he left the house three hours earlier. As you might surmise from his outburst at the truck, his fight with Sarah had also been a loud one. He had been so angry, but now all he could think of was getting home as quickly as humanly possible. The storm was coming fast, so he needed to be faster. The old truck strained and protested at the abnormally strenuous workload, but it steadily continued down the road.

Casey had tried to call and apologize, but his phone was dead. It wouldn't have done any good as the power had gone out, but he didn't know that. Pedal to the metal he passed mile after mile of seemingly endless fields and pastures. He was getting close though.

It was just up that hill and then down the side road for a bit. He glanced out the side window to get an idea of how bad the storm was. His left hand tightened on the steering wheel and he yelled as he slammed his right hand against the wheel once again, "COME ON!!!"

I liked that, he like screwed up bad, and now he needs to make sure those were not his last words or so it seems. Of course with any story it could go in any number of ways.

Yeah, I thought there was a lot of possibility regarding what could happen. There's nothing like a crisis to make you realize what's important in life though. It's better if we learn it before it's too late.

yeah I've been there, poor guy, I hope he makes it home okay! I think somethings going to happen before he makes it home though.

It's likely we won't find out. The ideas come to me at times, but normally it's just for the one installment based on the inspiration of the picture.

Howdy sir Blondie! Well sir, I'm always impressed by the number of good writers on this platform and when I get the chance I ask them how they work, do you totally stop your thinking about these short stories or do you keep thinking about what could happen next in the plot? Because I bet you could keep going! lol.
