SLC26-W4 | Street Business Diaries: Service-based professions
Hello My Dear Steemians,
You don't find too many Street food outlets in Canberra but I wanted to do this for this week’s SLC26-W4 | Street Business Diaries: Service-based professions so I decided to do it as soon as I logged off from my official account a couple of hours ago at 5 pm to be precise as this truck moves off at 6 pm and there is no alternatives left.
If you're looking for a street food service in Australian Capital Canberra this food truck is perhaps the one you are looking for. The owners of this truck from Nepal started with a unique idea of selling momos, chops and noodles, besides chicken, beef and other meat products as everybody loves it.
What types of service-based occupations are most in demand in your area? Barber, mechanic, watch/glasses repairer, van ice cream vendor, etc.
People come here at Friends and Momos looking for a reliable, passionate and a casual environment for eating street food and therefore they look no beyond than this food truck. These two guys started their food truck in this area with special permission since street food is rare in Australia but only in specified areas.
So once they started it here in this area in their unique style serving these delicious items they call momos but locally known as dumplings. The idea local food clicked instantly.
This truck is ideal for someone who enjoys eating a quick food in a fast-paced kitchen environment with plenty of choices right from vegetarian to different meets.
I did a short video while waiting for my item get ready:
Experience one of the best food trucks that keeps changing location in this vast park in Philips CBD in the Canberra city the Australian Capital.
This food business on a truck is operated by these two guys from Nepal who have captured not only the local community but people from different origins living in Canberra including the local Australians.
This truck comes to this area during evenings on weekdays and for longer hours during weekends when more people are here for enjoying the facilities available here.
These two are not only perfect cooks who prepare various delicacies in their original taste but keep up to the technology to provide a perfect service.
For instance, you can pay using QR code or swipe your debit/credit card to complete the advance payment.
Once you make the payment they provide you with an electronic gadget and ask you to sit while your ordered item is being prepared,
They have all the gadgets fixed in their truck like mincing machine, grinder, oven and a mini barbecue.
Once your item is ready they give it to you in ready to eat containers or if you wish to take them away they pack them accordingly.
They provide you with sauces with their items in three different taste, light, medium and chili according to your taste and of course they have cans of different soda drinks like coke, fanta or other available items.
They have a makeshift sitting arrangement just in front of their food truck in form of plastic stools and which are both used for sitting and placing your food items.
Have you ever used these services yourself or purchased anything? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.
I have visited and tried these items several times even if not all on their menu due to my limitations but my friends visiting with me order them and say these are one of their Asian snacks. And they are right I don’t often see it these items on local menus.
The tasty pieces of noodles fried in a thin, crispy batter and served with a sweet sesame dipping sauce. I find them absolutely delicious.
Were you satisfied at the end of the work or were you ever disappointed?
Yes you can say I am one of their loyal customers who come for the taste of authentic food from Asia. They cook something from my neighboring countries and of course from China and my native country India with exact same flavors. I get them as a mix of with or without being too oily, or spicy.
Do people appreciate the work of the shopkeeper? If you have personal experience, please tell us.
Since locals from South East Asia had fewer choices in this area especially in Canberra, there was no such food places to eat. As far satisfaction level some of their customers are asking them to open a restaurant, but these guys are happy with their truck and feel they will do it a little later once they expand their business and add more takeaways customers.
And why me only but people coming to this area have developed a taste for the items available on this food truck. They offer such a satisfying dishes crunchy fried items anyone would fall for them with a deliciously sticky chill coating. You get everything that you can get in South East Asia like steamed or fried momos, with local style chutney and chili sauce. They make everything to the order of the customer mild, medium and spicy so everyone loves their preparation and go back satisfied.
Why they are so successful!
They say they bring raw food material straight from the farms. And they are right as my friends say the quality of fried chicken sausages, served with their self made tomato chutney, and their local style chowmein noodles are one of the most popular street food dishes among Indians, Bangladeshi and Pakistani besides locals from Nepal. And you know Australia is full of people from these countries who adore eating these items.
