Just yesterday I was revisiting some ideas of how I could be more actively involved in reducing plastic waste. I live on the central coast of California, quite near to the Monterey BayAquarium. One of their missions is to improve the health of our ocean by educating the public on the impacts of plastic pollution on marine wildlife. They have a very impressive exhibit dedicated to this issue that packs quite a visual punch.

I had taken a few pictures of their display and used them as the basis of a few of the patterns I create. I had entertained the idea of printing these designs on scarves, selling them and giving a portion of the proceeds to ocean clean up efforts...turning trash into treasure kind of thing. Still figuring out how to make that happen.
