In the spirit of the video and your post, those things are just so fucking wierd! I was pretty fascinated by them as a kid; in Danish they are called "Klumpfisk" which literally means "lump fish," with the interpretation of lump being "a big clumsy dumb oaf."

So much for the whole "everything has purpose and meaning" idea...
