A Shrine to the Love - Taj Mahal
I have almost known about the most beautiful monument of India, Taj Mahal since I was 9 years old; it is one of those iconic monuments whose form is burned into your world imagination at childhood. I never considered, in fact, see it, until I planned a trip to India. Of course, if I was going to India, I would go to the Taj Mahal - you have to right?
Yes, you have to.
My traveler friends and I were actually willing to skip the Taj Mahal than you might imagine. The draw of the classic sightseeing spots is not mainly strong for me, or my friends, for whatever reason. I do not travel to “say I have been there” or show people photographs of myself in front of Taj Mahal monument (sorry, let me just get down from my high - horse real quick). But seriously, the Taj Mahal is only of those works of genius that when you, in fact, experience it in person you lastly get it. You get why you have seen photographs of this place since you were a kid; you get why billions of people come here every year; you get why it is a UNESCO and on the Seven Wonders of the World record.
We took the 8 AM Taj Mahal tour from Delhi by car, with a return for later that evening or night. When we arrived in the Agra around 10:30 AM. The driver was a really nice and helpful guy, so we ended up to arrange the day - rate to take us around the complete day and finally back to the Delhi in the evening, which ended up being well worth it. You can get the reasonable ride, but he was a stand-up guy and we did not mind pay to have him stick with us.
