I realize as we all get older, and people around me obviously as well, so many judge things based on what they learned in their youth or formative years... so many of the assumptions no longer apply, and i myself understand that it gets harder to reason things and be willing to see things from a new perspective.
I agree with you...it isnt easy.
That said, what we were taught in year's past no longer applies. It is now decades since "lifetime" employment went out the window but I remember the uproar when Delta laid off 5,000 employees. People were accustomed to working for one company their entire careers. Now, the younger generation doesnt even expect to work in the same industry their entire lives (smart expectation).
The present quickly becomes the past. We are seeing things being obsolete in record time...and that includes ideas.
