Renewable energies and Cryptocurriencies are already synergising it seems. There is an austrian ICO startup called Hydrominer that uses electricity directly from water power plants (think: containers filled with GPUs right next to the dams) which is an interesting compromise to lessen the impact on the grid. I am still unsure about the negative effect on the environment that thousands of simultaneously running GPUs will have. Might be worth discovering/looking into.

Also it seems like Austria has a lot of catching up to do on the electric vehicle infrastructure. sigh
