Oh my, you play this really well. I didn’t have a clue, right up until I should. Hazel is such a wonderful character and I love how he explains it to her, the tender care of a grandad like relationship really comes across, the dialogue is just spot on, you capture the dynamic so very well, and love the dime mention! It makes it feel real. The family spanning generations really adds to it, it’s an element that makes sense, but not one that would have come to my mind right away. This is such clever prompt fulfilment, and I really enjoy the expanded sun element being the reason mankind ‘leaving’ earth, it’s a very realistic future. The youth of Hazel, the dying of those left on earth, it should be heartbreaking and yet it doesn’t feel tragic, it feels intimately beautifully, a story of something greater beyond the veil. This is very well told, and an entry that has really played on my mind since I read it. Thank you <3
