INTERNET OF THINGS: THE INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY OF YOUR LIFE

This article will be divided into two separate parts, in which we will address aspects first of the IOT, and then the most attractive companies in the sector.

Let's start with the IOT.First of all: What the hell is the IOT? The above acronyms refer to the Internet of Things, Internet of Things in Spanish. This, in turn, refers to the goal of connecting all the objects of daily use to the network, so that these maintain a constant communication with the internet and the information flow with joy.

The connection between all these devices faces a series of challenges. Some of these have already been overcome, while others are in the process of being resolved. The first standard for assigning addresses was IPv4, which allowed more than 4 billion devices connected to the network. For the year 2011, before the tremendous boom of the smartphone and the extension of the network across the planet, the experts concluded that a new standard was necessary. Thus, IPv6 was developed, which exponentially increases the number of possible addresses allowing the devices exist in the middle of the network.

So challenge exceeded.

However, not everything is already done, because there are a lot of problems in terms of capacity. Thus, the current network does not allow the tremendous increase of devices that would involve the connection of standard objects to the network, so it needs a solution to overcome this obstacle. Once the 5G begins to walk definitively, the definitive deployment of the Internet of things will be possible.

What forecasts lie in the IOT? Well, it is speculated that 5 or 10 years are missing for its development and implementation, and then 50,000 million devices connected to the Internet will be able to circulate in our world. These, will move a market of 7 trillion dollars, which compete to share the big ones of the technological industry.

As we saw before, IOT not only well, but it will go hand in hand with other technologies that will develop in years to come.

Thus, cloud computing will see an impulse thanks to the internet of things, and big data will benefit from the immensity of data produced by even more devices.

What practical applications will the IOT have? The possibilities are endless, but as a brief and incomplete summary, some could be cited as vehicles without driver, automatic replacement for household appliances, industrial automation, alert of low stock in hospitals ... and a long etcetera.

One of the sectors that can benefit the most from this technological change is again the health sector, which can use the IOT to detect anomalies in the blood or other bodily functions. All this, added to the greater capacity of control on the apparatuses used in hospitals, and gadgets related to health in general. It is estimated that 77% of companies in the healthcare sector plan to make the leap to IOT, being ahead of other economic sectors.
