SLC-S26/W4 | "pottery for your home decor out of plaster of Paris

I perceive so blessed to partake in Steemit Learning Challenge Season 26 Week 4. Pottery making is such a joyous handicraft that allows us to transfigure unembellished materials into commodity significant and ornamental. This week’s task was each around creating home décor with Plaster of Paris( POP).

For my entry, I chose to form a Flower Vase/Multi-purpose Holder applying a veritably simple method. The procedure was instigative, and the closure conclusion formed me prideful of my imaginativeness.

My Project Flower Vase/Multi-purpose Holder

Things I Used

Plaster of Paris( ½ kg)

Water

Empty glass jar

Polythene/ shopping bag

Rope

Acrylic paints & brushes

Sandpaper

Step 1 Preparing Mixture

I mixed Plaster of Paris with water in a coliseum until it came a chunky epoxy. It was substantial to bring snappily because POP dries rapidly.

Step 2 Setting with Jar

I deposed an blank glass jar half- filled with water inside a shopping pouch. Then I streamed the POP blend around the jar inside the bag. Eventually, I bound the bag’s mouth with a string and deserted it to dry for 2 hours.

Step 3 Demolding

After drying, I precisely rip open the bag. The vase condition approached out fluently without any cracks. applying sandpaper, I smoothed the rough points for a groomed finish.

Step 4 Painting & Decoration

Before painting, I pertained a white primer fleece( acrylic paint) for a floury exterior. Then I applied pink, leafy, golden, and black colors in different designs to offer it a flourishing look.

To embellish yonder, I emplaced some artificial verdant paper made flowers inside the vase. Actually, the various design made it look elegant and eye- catching.

The elegant part? This vase is multi-purpose it can alike be applied as a stationary holder, paintbrush organizer, or indeed a negligible storage container.
