SLC-S26/W4 | "pottery for your home decor out of plaster of Paris"||

As such I warmly welcome you to season 26 week 4 of the steemit learning challenge under pottery making challenge, the past week have been about molding different pottery with different designs, in this week challenge,I choose Key rack.

Let carry out the practical together,I believe you will enjoy every moments.

Make any decor item for your home out of "plaster of Paris" follow the given method in the course make any one style project according to your convenience,add detail with step-by-step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of your work.

This week brought us with two beautiful design using plaster of Paris. I choose Making keys rack with painting.

Material needed are :

• 1/2 kg plaster of Paris
• Water
• Plastic molds
• Mixing bowl
• Oil for grease
• Mold
• Spatula
• Paint
• Brush
• Noise marks
• Stock

Mold preparation

This is one of the most important part of pottery making. The reason is that it prevent the plaster of Paris from sticking,it also helps in easy demoulding and smooth the surface of our home decor

With this in mine,I took long brushes dip inside the oil and grease the inside of my mold and set them aside.

Clay /materials mixing and fixing.

The second step is mixing of our plaster of Paris,Proper mixing of the cement help us to achieve a desired strength and texture,So that it bond effectively and reduce the risk of cracks and weakness there by increasing it life span.

So, In a clean bowl, I have poured my require quantity of cement into the bowl, I added water and mixed.

I continue to the turning process till it becomes smooth running aand texture. I transfer it to the mold and shake it to balance every way.

I added two small stick at the top, which will serve as a hole for rope during hanging.

Let it dry then demolding.

I was extremely excited because today because we had a sun shining all through the day.

After two hours, my key rack was easily removed due to proper greased mold base.I removed sticks and got fine two holes for hanging.

I added metal at the end, which helps to hold my key. At this stage,I was delighted to have a beautiful art in my hand. I had my key holder,my teacher added three I decided to add them as well.

Painting/final presentation

Now welcome to the Last step, Painting Play a key role in making our art work appealing to the eye.

I choose Green 💚 and White 🤍. I start by dividing the top Conner and paint it green.

I blended with some dot and heart shaped. I continue till, I achieve what was in my imagination.

I had my rope and guys my handing key rack is ready. The Joy and Happiness was Massive.

I wrote my username name and carry out selfie.
