Corinthians is much more than a football club. Corinthians is a religion, a big nation, but a lot more than that, Corinthians is a voice. Corinthians is a strength, a manner of expression that its population has. The corinthian crowd uses their club, their team, their physical expression as a way of contesting everything that is not given to them as a right.

I took the photo above, which stamps this post's thumbnail, during a Corinthians' match that I watched in the end of May in the city of Mirassol, when we played the home team. I had to grey out the green of the grass because one of our rivals uses this color as their symbol, and it felt weird to leave it as it was on the Coringation anniversary. I had mentioned to @the-gorilla last year that it was hard to get tickets, but it seems like the secondary markets are a lot weaker nowadays due to the facial recognition technology now in effect, so who knows if my next photos are not from inside Arena Corinthians again, huh? But since I hadn't posted anything from this trip to Mirassol, today seemed like a great opportunity to.

To be honest, it's not been simple to find the time and the energy to write for the last few weeks, but I know that I wanted to make something for today, even though it's not the first of September in most of the world anymore. And what matters the most, is that I'm doing it for me, so I'm trying to put these words into something that is meaningful to me. I could write about the entire history of Corinthians, mention every title we've won, the greatest players and most memorable goals. But it wouldn't be as truthful to me as rambling about Dr. Sócrates and writing this meta-paragraph. This is me, nice to be talking to you!

I loved this 115 year anniversary symbol that Corinthians changed to on their socials today, and I especially loved that my uncle sent this print above to share it in the morning. Love you so fucking much, Lu and JV! And fuck, I love all my Coringation friends so freaking much too! Thank you for every eternal memory we've created together.

It's crazy to think that this team, this movement called Corinthians was founded so many years ago, in the area of Bom Retiro, where there's this monument posted by the official Corinthians' instagram today to eternalize it:

I posted here in this same Community almost a year ago to announce the coming of Memphis Depay, and now he's also a Coringation fanatic. Our club supports the People, and that makes me even prouder to be corinthiano. May these 115 years be only the first couple in a long story. I'll never leave you.
