Oh, I think this is VERY real! It is not all that difficult, int he sense that it is just filtering the water. The challenge is in the magnitude of it. The Ocean Cleanup intents to put fields of many square kilometers out in the oceans and let the current do its work. The next step is to trial these big 'fields'.
