Hi guys welcome to my cookingvlog 21, today I bring to you a special recipe.

When you think of a super healthy and nutritious meal always remember to add mushroom to that food It is very healthy and good to be consumed.

Whether you add it to your meal or you prepare it as a soup or you use it to cook anything of your choice it health benefits worth it.


What Are Mushrooms?


Some people at this point reading this post is already asking this question but don't worry I'm here to explain what's really mushroom is and also give you a brief health benefit of it.

Mushrooms are edible fungi they usually grow on a plant stem that decays. You know fungi are neither plants nor animal but this ones are edible. One more thing, there are different types of mushroom thousands of them most of it are not edible but yet there are some that you see in the market This ones are edible.

At least I'm privileged to eat three different types of mushrooms.

So you can easily get a plant stem and grow your mushroom at your home, this is something I am planning to do very soon and if I succeed in doing it then I would like to share how I grow mine.


Health Benefits of Mushrooms


During my research on health benefits of mushroom, I found so many things interesting and I want to share the ones that interest me really much and I really feels this benefit whenever I eat mushrooms.

  • Rich in Nutrients; they have essential nutrients that our body need which helps in boosting the immune system. Such as B vitamins (B2, B3, B5), selenium, potassium, and copper. It also help in combating cells damage due to the presence of antioxidants such as ergothioneine and glutathione.

  • It also help defend the body against infections and inflammation naturally.

  • Very good in heart health as it is free of cholesterol, then if you already have high cholesterol in the body mushroom helps lowers it. Then it helps in regulating blood pressure as well.

  • When it comes to weight management it has high fibre content with low calories it's usually helps one feel full. This is the part I like so much, vegetarians also his mushroom in place of meats and it's very healthy.

  • So the high content of fibre and probiotic compounds presents in this mushroom helps to improve digestion and nutrients absorption.

I love mushroom so much and I like eating it I want to give you one of my recipe on how I prepare my mushroom I'll give you a step-by-step guide so follow along as I show you.


Ingredients


  • Mushroom
  • Chicken
  • Irish potato
  • Carrot
  • Seasonings
  • Pepper
  • White onion
  • Tumeric
  • Ginger
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt to taste

Preparation


The preparations are very easy the first thing you need to do is to wash thoroughly the mushroom to avoid sand and some other small insects that may crawl on it.

I soaked the mushrooms in vinegar water and rinse it with clean water.

Seasoned and steam the chicken, add all the spices and seasoning to taste.

At this point the chicken was already steaming so I added carrot and allow it to simmer.

I added mushrooms and allow it to simmer for some minutes till it's done.

I added the Irish potato which I peel and chop into fine shapes.
