William "Bill" Vandivert (1912-1989) was an American photographer and cofounding member of the photo agency Magnum Photos.
Vandivert studied 1928-1930 chemistry at Beloit College and 1930-1935 at the Chicago Institute of Art. From 1935 Vandivert began making the first pictures; For example for Examiner Herald in Chicago. A little later, he worked as a full-time employee for the famous magazine Life. In December 1938 Vandivert moved to London, England to work for life in Europe.
