message to the de-platformed, content striked and content creator — stack tokens, it’s time to learn this attention economy!
. .. and why not stack HUNT tokens to get you started for free on this incredible steem blockchain journey to 400+ other applications that run on this chain that can empower your health, your video hosting and you’re involvement in community of passions you love. ..
but reviewhunt is not a video hosting platform Phil!
Listen, you are totally right. .. .
. … but how do we get people who have got used to centralised platforms to even take a look and sign up to d.tube when they have to buy tokens, credits, wallets and stuff to get started — that’s a big chasm to leap when all you wanna do is host a darn video. . . why not get them earning from day one in an eco system they understand.. .

. .. an additional way of onboarding, better dapps that reward/train to actively help people convert that value they earned from quests (like on the new reviewhunt) into steem power to give them power to be immutable on the steem blockchain (d.tube) with their video…. and thus opening them up to a whole new world of decentralised playground. .

Someone I’ve been following for a decade or more (Cyriak) got one of his videos content striked yesterday and it got me thinking about how we can communicate the immutable part of the steam blockchain better for creative people just like him….

… .how we can onboard them quickly, easily and at no cost to them (ok maybe minimal cost for the account creation. .) we should have an active focused team of people finding people that are getting deplatformed, we could really shift the needle in signups if we did — maybe I’m talking myself into just going ahead and doing it? :)
I mean, check out this music video he helped direct.. . it’s so sick, timeless even and you can see his STYLE all the way through it, that’s what get’s attention, something UNIQUE, I see steem unique in the way it handles itself so it’s a marriage made in heaven! — he posted a video a few years ago that’s already got nearly half a million views. .. attention has a value!
Video directed by Cyriak Harris: http://www.cyriak.co.uk — he’s also on twitter at https://twitter.com/cyr
Reviewhunt is launching this week and it’s part two of a three part plan of three websites (verticals) — as moderator for the last year I’ve been at the coalface of how it’s changed and grown, it’s going to be a perfect place for a non steemian, existing YouTube or content creator who wants to get into the world of crypto and does not want to spend any money to do so.
wait, but centralised platforms are free so why would I need to even learn all this stuff? I get it, it’s a culture shock but the world of free centralised hosting is over, time to reboot your knowledge of the web for 2020! :)

What if I told you that your attention and time was now incentivised with a token, a token that has a real world value. Of course, this is not going to make you rich in the short term but it’s more than youtube has ever given you because every interaction will have a value.
instead of waking to frustration and annoyance what if you could be building tokens and access in your sleep so that when you post your next video to another steem enabled platform like d.tube you know that your video was safe and immutable.
Remember when you were young and when people said ‘money makes the world go around?’ Well in the blockchain world it’s the value of the attention that makes the chain go around. I promised to myself not to go too techy today so bear with me on this! :)
the slow demise of your adsense crack addiction.
horror stories like this for content creators exist (I believe this one was fixed but still, lots of people that are being effected)
I just got a message today from YouTube telling me my channel is no longer eligible for monitization after 10+ years being a partner. Fullscreen, the company who handles my partnership, who I’ve been with for 6+ years dropped me like a rock with no attempt for helping me resolve the situation. They just gave notice of terminating my contract via email and that’s it.
You see often times people are stuck, they just kept posting, not looking around and have tunnel vision. As long as youtube keeps sending me a cheque each month I’m golden, tunnel vision if you want to see it like that, the rules and the game is changing.
But also because of crypto currency and tokenomics that world of decentralised media hosting is surging back to the front again — think of it like Napster but instead of just a download fest, you actually get incentivised for your interaction with the platform — when was the last time youtube gave you a few cents for your thoughtful comment?
Once those that make it away from their Adsense addiction want to resolve it and realise it’s either conform to an ever changing advertising partner marketplace that they have no control over or that they would be better to get an alternative revenue stream they are gonna coming looking. … and we need to make that switch as smooth as possible.
We already see platforms like lbry with one click youtube importing your videos ‘Get your YouTube videos in front of the LBRY audience’ and guess what, they have a lbry token and sure they are position 454 on coinmarketcap (a crypto leaderboard of projects) and STEEM is around 79 but you get my point, these projects want you and your content! :)
but why talk about reviewhunt when I can’t host video here?
What do you do when you get to the seaside? Apart from stripping down and throwing a shawl on the sand it’s take the shoes of and run out to the sea to get your feet wet. .. right?
Reviewhunt is an opportunity (for a few bucks of a steem account creation) to not only get your feet wet but to SEE first hand what the current set of companies (did I mention there was over 100+ wanting to spend $700k in the first month?) are going to do with their quests. … as a content creator that makes content for fun and sometimes exposure for work, you can see where I’m going here. …
.. . earn the native reviewhunt token HUNT yes, that currently has a value of $0.00791607 per HUNT (still better than zero from youtube) and guess what you can trade those tokens for STEEM, the baseline crypto currency that spawned amazing dapp projects like steemhunt and reviewhunt and before the end of the year idea hunt, a crowdfunding platform where people can put in HUNT tokens for a product they want to be built — do you see where I’m going with this yet?
your attention can bring you immutability
Attention in one project, in one niche, in one community can be traded between tokens on other communities but all under one house — sure it takes a little time to get your head around It but when you realise that you can have control and governance over your media hosting then the sky is the limit — I’ve not even talked about steem-engine.com, custom frontends and your OWN token that you control and reward other users in your niche for their time and attention looking at the community you drive and have ownership over.
What if you was your own youtube?
It’s all possible here, on the steem blockchain and the entry methods in are many, it’s just waiting for you to get started.
Grab an account over on steemhunt for free (with a mobile number) or pay $2/3 bucks over on ampsteem, unfr.ee, ihaz.carrd.co to get active on the steem blockchain today.
I’ll be bring you a tutorial on reviewhunt on skillshare a few days after the launch, if you found value in this post then please hit my referral link for skillshare you’ll get two months free of access and I’ll get a $10 upgrade which I’ll convert into steem power :)
The future of the digital web is incentivised communities, come build yours together with the dapps of the steem blockchain!
