Am I The Problematic One? I Don't Think So

I'm flesh and blood too, why hurt me like that?

This was supposed to be a comment but turned out like an essay, perhaps because it's touchy subject for me.

It's a quiet ache some of us carry, something that we seldom confide in others because what will they think if even our closest loved ones don't support us? What would others think?

Could we be the problematic one?

We should know well that's not true.

No matter how well we know our own value or possess confidence, we are just human with hearts that beat and bleed.

I'm struggling to understand why, when a person truly deserves validation, those who matter choose to withhold it, like dangling a carrot just out of reach, as if it's some kind of game.

Seems like cruelty to me.

More often than not, this behavior comes from someone close to us, or someone we thought would always have our back.

Does this kind of behavior bring them pleasure? Are they sadist? Isn't that a form of abuse?

We wait day in and day out for that affirmation, only to be repeatedly let down. It's heartbreaking to endure this cycle, especially when it's with the same group of people, time and again.

Are we not right in the head for not simply walking away, or do we just keep giving them second chances?

No matter how introverted I am personally, I still believe we all need our tribe. Perhaps the painful truth is that we've been seeking validation from the wrong one.

I'm saying all this as someone who has received little validation, and often only invalidation, from my so-called loved ones.

Fortunately, there's internet connection.

What we might not find in our inner circle, there's always somewhere out there that we can seek, and where we shall build our tribe.

Reposting my comment from my recent read, because some thoughts just deserve a post of their own.
