(Post 1 of 1) Good morning for the pre-market of Friday 7/8/22. The jobs numbers this morning are being processed by the market. Early consensus on this report is that the economy and inflation are slowing, but the jobs market remains strong with growth of 372K new jobs.

It is difficult to have a recession with this type of job strength in the economy. This is good news for the economy, but mixed news for the market, which fears the Fed's war on inflation now. Atlanta Fed president Bostic is on CNBC now stating that he supports a 75 basis point hike at the coming July FOMC meeting. Market futures have traded into the red on this hawkish message.

However, this data this morning are rearview looking, and Bostic just stated that he sees much greater slowing in the economy looking ahead.
