My Trading Journey Update - Dealing with Market Challenges

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my latest trading results with the community. This week has been quite educational for me, and I think sharing real experiences helps us all learn together.
Account Overview - Raw Trading Ltd
Account Number: 52430647
Trader: Omar Abdelkefi
Currency: USD
Statement Date: August 4th, 2025 23:59
What Happened Recently
A couple of days ago was a challenging day in my trading journey. I had to make some difficult decisions, including closing my ETHUSD position that I had been holding since July 27th.
My Trading Results

The Ethereum Position - Closed
My ETHUSD position that I opened on July 27th at 06:26 got closed on August 2nd:
- Original Entry Price: $3522.93 (July 27th)
- Exit Price: $3424.30 (August 2nd at 20:49)
- Position Size: 1 lot (sell)
- Ticket: #953925179
- Final Result: Loss of -$98.57
This was a tough one to take. The market moved against my position, and I had to stick to my risk management rules and close it out.
The Cardano Position - Was Still Open
My ADAUSD position from July 28th was still running at the time of the statement:
- Entry Date: July 28th at 17:19
- Position: Buy 1 lot
- Entry Price: $0.80965
- Market Price (Aug 4th): $0.74905
- Status at Statement Date: Floating loss of -$0.62
This position was moving against me, but I was monitoring it closely and hadn't hit my stop loss at that point.
Account Status (As of August 4th)
Here's where my account stood after those trading activities:
Account Balance Breakdown
- Previous Ledger Balance: $332.05
- Previous Equity: $337.59
- Current Balance: $227.60
- Current Equity: $226.98
- Floating P/L: -$0.62
Risk Management Stats
- Closed Trade P/L: -$104.45
- Margin Requirements: $1.62
- Available Margin: $225.36
- Total Loss Impact: -$104.45
Tough Lessons from Recent Trading
Losses Are Part of Trading: Even when you think you have a good setup, the market can move against you.
Risk Management Saves Accounts: Without proper stops, that ETHUSD loss could have been much worse.
Emotional Discipline: Taking a $98.57 loss hurts, but it's better than letting it become a $200+ loss.
Portfolio Impact: One bad trade significantly impacted my small account, showing the importance of position sizing.
Performance Analysis
Recent Situation:
- Account Drawdown: -32.7% from recent high
- Open Positions: 1 (ADAUSD showing small loss at the time)
What Went Wrong:
- Held the ETHUSD position too long hoping for a reversal
- Should have cut losses earlier when technical levels broke
- Need to improve entry timing and market analysis
What's Next?
My plan moving forward:
- Focus on smaller position sizes to preserve capital
- Be more strict with stop-loss levels
- Take time to analyze what went wrong with the ETHUSD trade
- Continue monitoring any open positions for signs of reversal
- Consider taking a short break to reset mentally after losses
Recovery is part of every trader's journey. I'll use these setbacks as learning opportunities to come back stronger.
