We don't have too much trouble in NY with that, but I hear in California you take your life in your hands if you get on the highway on a motorbike because larger vehicles take no notice of you. And if you are a shitty unobservant cyclist, with poor driving skills, well then you take your life and the lives of others in your hands.

I know you and Howie use a similar mode of transportation, though I think big bikes belong to a separate category, that's why I really wanted to point out the distinction between the different types. I'm specifically referring to the ones who weave in and out between lanes. So, you guys are most definitely not in that category :D
Some people are just so reckless. If they don't have a high regard of their lives, at least spare others from the pain they cause. It's ironic how little they are on the road and yet they cause a lot of collateral damage. You can read my reply to Boomdawg if you want to read some gruesome examples.
