RE: Traffic Koans [Day 2]

Alrighty... I'm not sure this really counts.... it's a story about headlights, but not quite in the right direction... But here it is anyway!

I was driving back from the shops one evening, (it was dark), when in front of me a man crossed the road. He was sauntering across without a care, despite me coming towards him. I couldn't believe the audacity of the guy! Not even pretending to hurry!

So I did a big, long beep on the horn and pulled a kind of what are you playing at, man? face.

He proceeded to get extremely angry and starting swearing and shouting at me as I drove past.

I was shocked and appalled.

Then I realised I didn't have my headlights on at all....

oops.

My bad...

Disclaimer.... this has never happened again, I'm a good driver really. :)

Ahahahaha!! This is a story for a different koan (or two)! I have to say, I'm quite guilty of this myself. I think I've forgotten about my headlights 2 to 3 times now. Thankfully, my car has auto headlights for that last time. But, for the first time, I think I drove more than 8 km in the highway and main business district haha! I do believe that lapse shouldn't affect of how we assess ourselves as drivers. I'm a good driver as well. How we assess ourselves as great observers is a different issue however.

Thanks for sharing that tale nonetheless, my friend! I'm so happy that people can be candid about this stuff here :)
