@marc-allaria Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Let's try a jellyfish for this week! This one comes from Tunisia, late in the day during the sunset. Quite hard to shot but it's worth to do it. The place was full of jellyfishes during this summer.

Camel Silhouette at Sunrise in Sahara, Morocco. When I got up early in the morning to capture the sun rising over the Moroccan Sahara, the camels were already awake. Their silhouettes made for some great shots against the rising sun.

Ramla Bay is located at the bottom of a rich and fertile valley on the northern side of the island of Gozo. The beach is quite wide and sandy. It is a particularly golden-reddish sand which makes this beach different from all others in Gozo and Malta.

Panoramic view of the center of Bratislava with the tower of the majestic St. Martin Cathedral in the foreground. Home to some 430,000 people, Bratislava is the largest and capital city of Slovakia.

On the way through Estonia, when we didn't know where to go and what to visit. We went to the northernmost continental point of Estonia. Nobody was around us, just nature. We have experienced one of the most charming sunsets.

Qurator's Photo Friday #79 - Golden Lava

Pretty fresh seascape shot just from last week. The warmest days only were about to start, so evening was actually just pleasantly warm and insanely calm. Very rare for a Baltic Sea to look like a lake, but happens and was lucky again to catch it
A bit of long exposure (about 0.5sec) still to freeze even the slight motion of the water. Made few shots to catch incoming wave curve to look like some kind of snake or sea animal.
Perfect warm reflection on overall almost mirror surface really makes the feeling it is some kind of lava or not just a water...

Enjoy the scenery!

The fortress of Montepulciano is a castle that has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries. Today, it is transformed into a cultural center where exhibitions and events of all kinds take place.

Evening on Lago d'Antorno_DSC9074_2000px.jpg

Classic view of Tre Cime di Lavaredo reflecting in a pond on Lake Antorno, Dolomites, Europe. My first evening in the majestic Dolomites I have spent on this picturesque lake. Not a bad place to start a photo trip, right?

Impressive comeback to the contest :)

Boats in Nyhavn in Copenhagen, Denmark

Lined with just as many bars and restaurants as boats, Nyhavn is a beautiful spot to spend an evening in Copenhagen. In July, I enjoyed my last evening in Europe at the colourful waterfront before flying to Asia.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

The Gates of Minsk are one of the most impressive sights of the Belarusian capital. There is a shopping mall next to the gates that offers a terrace from where you can enjoy one of the city's best views, especially at sunset!

São Miguel is one of the nine islands of Açores. It is a volcanic island with amazing nature! You can find tea plantations, huge pastures, lagoons, thermal pools... plenty to see! Here, a view of the landscape on the way up to one of the lagoons.

açores1.jpg

Açores have been constantly climbing up my travel list. I imagine they can be similar to the Canary Islands or Madeira in a way but should be less touristy, which is a huge asset for me. How much time did you spend there my friend?

A little bit less than a week. Açores are A LOT more greener than Canary Islands! Only been in São Miguel, but most of the other island are even less touristic and well worth a visit too. Low cost airlines started to fly there a couple a years ago, so tourism is going up, but still rather under the radar. You should definitely visit, especially if you like nature! Just hope you have better luck with the weather than me! :)

I actually did a bit of research on the interent already and I am very impressed. It looks like exactly what I need. The nature, the isolation, the climate... I just haven´t found much info about the prices (rents, food etc.) I might first do a little exploration trip there :) Thanks for your info man :)

It is just amazing. Add great diving and whale watching to your list. Prices are in line with mainland Portugal, cheaper than Lisboa. If you end up going and need some advice, feel free to drop me a message!

Thanks! I might do that :)
