Located just 2.5 miles south of Old Faithful Geyser is Kepler Cascade. It is a 50 foot tall, many level cascade on the Firehole River.

Yellowstone Lake is the largest high elevation lake in North America, sitting at above 7,000 feet. It is a natural lake, needing no dams to keep it at it's estimated capacity of 12,095,264 acre feet.

Yellowstone Lake has 131.7 square miles of surface area and 141 miles of shoreline.

While its capacity is over 12 million acre feet, the lake's annual outflow is only 1,100,000 acre feet, the water in the lake is completely replaced every 8-10 years.

While driving around the lake, we saw elk! I have to pull those photos off my husbeast's camera. As usual, stay tuned!
