Takengon is the capital of Central Aceh District, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Takengon is located on the side of Lake Lut Tawar, Lut Tawar district, Central Aceh district in the middle of the province of Aceh. Takengon is a cool highland plateau with a height of about 1200 m above sea level. Around this takengon there are many tourist attractions, including Lut Tawar Lake in Lut Tawar sub-district, Bebesen sub-district and Kebayakan sub-district, Pukes Pukes cave in Kecamatan Kebayakan and Pantan Terong in Bebesen sub-district. The population of Takengon consists of various ethnicities and ethnicities: The Aceh tribe is the most dominant tribe coming from Pidie and Pidie Jaya districts, besides other tribes are Chinese, Minangkabau, Gayo, and Javanese.
