Next attraction is the Hermitage. All photos are original and taken by me.
This pavilion in the Baroque style. Located in the Catherine Park in Tsarskoye Selo (town of Pushkin)
The pavilion was intended for a narrow circle of courtiers. This is the place for entertainment.
This octagonal pavilion has two floors. Located on an artificial island. To get to the island is just across the bridge over the moat.
The Hermitage pavilion was erected in the years 1743-1753. Are the architects A. V. Kvasov, S. I. Chevakinsky. Final luxury design belongs to the great master Bartolomeo Rastrelli.
Decorative columns, moldings, garlands - here in large numbers. Balcony with openwork lattice with the initials of the Empress Catherine ... All of this evidence belong to the Royal personage.
The interiors amaze with luxury and splendor. It mirrors in gilt frames. Carved furniture. A lot of paintings on mythological subjects. Elements of mythology are present on the outer design of the pavilion.
To visit the halls and take pictures of the inside will be possible through two months. Now there is restoration. I will do it for you. But, later!
My journey is not over. Ahead you will find much more interesting.
I thank you for reading my blog and appreciate your comments. Feel free to follow me.
Thank you for showing your photos, I was talking this morning to my husband and he was saying how much gold weight there is in the decoration. Some Alexander Palace photos would be great to see as well.
