Leisure time at Sultanahmet square

in #travel3 months ago

My holiday in Turkey was beyond my expectations. I did have some places in mind to visit but on reaching there I found out that there was so much to see, that the days I had was not enough. We were trying to squeeze in as much as we could. But, I found it very expensive, our guide told us that Turkey has had 100% inflation in the last few years. That is crazy and I wonder how local people can manage to live a comfortable life with everything being so expensive. Dining out in Oman is almost half the cost of what we would pay there and that too for a very ordinary restaurant, it was not even the fancy ones. Even the sight-seeing ticket prices were very highly priced.

One thing I observed is that this place is filled with tourist so there must be good amount of revenue coming in from tourism, then why so much of inflation. I do not understand economics so much so better leave that for the experts to comment.

The trees are barren but they still hold a lot of beauty. This was a leisure time at the Sultanahmet square and this is the place which is filled with majority of the tourist attractions like the blue mosque, basillica cistern, Haga Sophia and many such places.

This mosque is at the Taksim square, at night time with the lights, it looks magnificient.

What a beautiful post! I really enjoyed seeing your time at Sultanahmet Square. I was there myself last year in May, and it was such an interesting experience! The atmosphere in the old city, Fatih, is truly unique – full of history, culture, and energy. Your pictures brought back great memories, thank you for sharing! 😊🇹🇷

Thank you. This place is truly magical and so much to see, it's worth a visit once in a life time

Thank you for visiting Turkey, especially Istanbul. As you mentioned, life here in İstanbul is a bit hard nowadays. The inflation rates are crazy, and the cost of living is so expensive here. Sorry for being this expensive for you too :( Have a great day! Btw, pictures look cool, great job!

As tourist it is still ok to manage because we know we are on holiday so we are prepared to spend but with this kind of crazy inflation I cannot even imagine the struggles of daily life for the local people.
