Some pictures of Chicago

in #travel10 days ago

I have never visited this city, nor has it ever crossed my mind to visit here. I find it just like any other metropolitan city. Even when I travelled to US, this was not on my list, and I wonder why I did not think about it. Hubby visited last month and after seeing his pictures I feel like it's a nice place to visit. Since I had never thought of this place I had never even tried to find out what this place looks like. I always thought Chicago was a small city with mostly country side environment, but to my surprise it's a very modern city and very well developed and some places are worth visiting like the Navy pier.

That's called the Cloud Gate and also known as Chicago Bean because of it's shape.

It is quite an attraction because of the mirror reflection.

He took the hop on hop off and went around the city. Hubby is obsessed with the Hop on hop off bus tours. Wherever we travel he wants to take it and go around the city. We did the same in turkey and it was a total waste of money, because all the major sights were in one place and that was only one stop away from our hotel, then rest of the bus ride was not offering anything much to see, and we were stuck up in crazy traffic for 2 hours.

That looks like a government building

The Planetarium. I would have loved to visit, it is something of my interest.

@nainaztengra, what a delightful surprise to see Chicago through your husband's eyes! I love how you've captured your initial preconceptions and then contrasted them with the reality he shared. The Cloud Gate (aka The Bean!) is a must-see, and your hubby got some fantastic shots of its reflective magic. The waterfront walkway looks so inviting too!

It's funny how travel can sometimes change our minds about places we never considered before. Your experience with the hop-on-hop-off bus in Turkey is relatable, haha! The Planetarium sounds right up your alley. I hope you get to visit Chicago and explore it for yourself next time around! Thanks for sharing these vibrant photos and your thoughts. They make me want to pack my bags!

I could not travel but at least I could see the place with real pictures through him. Absolutely travel really changes us in many ways
