#Throwback - Memories of Lake Como
Lake Como is a small town in Northern Italy. It was one of those place which was on my must visit places on the list when I travelled to Italy. I was in Milan for 5 days and on one of the days I had plan the Lake Como day excursion. It was on day 3 that it was d planned. When me and my family reached the station, we got to know there was some railways strike on that route and for that day we could not travel. All of us felt very disappointed. I checked with them when the strike would get over and they had no idea about it. I was worried that if the strike continued on the next day then I would never be able to visit this place. Because then we were to travel to other cities and itinerary was all planned accordingly, so we had no extra day to fit this place at a later date.
Also from other cities that we were to travel, this place was far and a day excursion was not possible. I was praying through the day that the strike should get over and we could visit Lake Como. Next day early morning we reached the station and luckily the services had resumed. But then the station was crowded. We somehow managed to get new tickets, but the train was packed. All that did not bother me much. I was reaching my destination that was more then enough.
When I reached there, the beauty of this place charmed me. Truly I would have missed something very spectacular if I would have not visited. Because of the previous day train cancellations, the whole place was flooded with people. The first thing we did was, get on to the line of the funicular ride. It was a long one, but then important to do it, going to the top and getting the 360 degree view of the place is the major attraction of Lake Como.
Sharing some pictures.
This is when we reached Lake Como and getting the full view of the Lake
That's the view from the top after taking the funicular ride.
That's the Lake Como Cathedral
Lots of cafes and restaurants were there at this square.
There are a couple of things to see in this town but what is most important here is to admire the beauty of this place.
