Koh Kret, a wonderful small island near Bangkok
Koh Kret is a wonderful small island near Bangkok and not far from my house, but I never went there before because the way to get there is by taking a ferry boat… I am afraid of this, that’s why I didn’t ever think I could travel there.
Fortunately, while I walked along the Chao Phraya River to take photos and relax as mentioned in my previous post, I met an older woman with her son who were going to take a ferry boat to Koh Kret. They told me that this was the first time of their visit to Koh Kret and they convinced me to go with them. That’s why I traveled to Koh Kret for the first time, too…. And I was very happy with my decision! Koh Kret didn’t disappoint me.
I found out that the moment the wind blows against my face in the middle of the Chao Phraya River is the most wonderful feeling.
After arriving at the pier, you will see the front area of Koh Kret is a tourist attraction with cute shops where you can shop. Most items are handmade. Some shops sell traditional Thai desserts, many of which are hard to find.
A highlight food that you must not miss at Koh Kret is fried flowers. It is said that it is a symbol of your visit to Koh Kret.
Koh Kret is famous for its pottery. Right from the pier, you'll find pottery almost everywhere.
You can buy them as awesome souvenirs from the mini shops as well.
In my next post, I will show you more photos of this wonderful small island, Koh Kret.
